What free online learning opportunities are available in the next month to help new activists who want to get involved but don't know where to start?

A lot of people want to do something but feel overwhelmed and unsure of how to get started. Free online workshops lower that barrier. We'd like to help by including as many relevant events as possible on MFU's Community Calendar.

This package is for anyone looking for an accessible entry point into activism.

You will submit 5 upcoming free online workshops to the MFU Community Calendar through the submission form on the MFU website. The form will ask for your name and email address. Please use your alias instead of your name. If you prefer not to use your own email address, you can enter "info@myflyinguniversity.org" in that blank.

The events should be live workshops, webinars, trainings, or skill-building sessions that are free, open to the public, conducted online, and relevant to new activists or organizers. These need to be live events with a specific date and time, not pre-recorded courses or on-demand video libraries.

Topics might include things like how to contact your representatives, how to organize a local group, nonviolent resistance strategies, digital security for activists, or how to run for local office. Use your judgment. If it would be useful to someone just getting started, it probably fits.

• Ability to evaluate whether an event is legitimate and relevant

• Indivisible: Frequently hosts trainings for new activists
• She Should Run: Workshops on running for office

To submit the events to the MFU Calendar, go to the MFU homepage and scroll down until you see the header "Ready to Take Action?" Below that, you'll see a "Submit Event" button that will take you to the submission form. Complete the form, then click the final "Submit" button and confirm you see a pop-up message saying your event has been submitted.
