What's happening locally in the Bloomington area that gives people a way to get informed and involved in their community?

National events tend to dominate the news cycle, but a lot of the most meaningful civic engagement happens locally. But it's sometimes hard to track them down. MFU's Community Calendar puts them in one place so people can actually find them.

This package is for people in the Bloomington, IN, area who are looking for new ways to engage locally.

You will submit 5 upcoming local civic events to the MFU Community Calendar through the submission form on the MFU website. The form will ask for your name and email address. Please use your alias instead of your name. If you prefer not to use your own email address, you can enter "info@myflyinguniversity.org" in that blank.

The events should be free and in-person in the Bloomington, IN, area. This could include city council meetings, town halls, candidate forums, voter registration drives, community organizing meetings, mutual aid events, know-your-rights workshops, rallies, marches, and public comment hearings. Use your judgment. If it would be useful to someone just getting started, it probably fits.

To submit the events to the MFU Calendar, go to the MFU homepage and scroll down until you see the header "Ready to Take Action?" Below that, you'll see a "Submit Event" button that will take you to the submission form. Complete the form, then click the final "Submit" button and confirm you see a pop-up message saying your event has been submitted.
